About University

CHRIST (Deemed to be University) traces its roots to the educational vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara. The institution began as Christ College in 1969, became autonomous in 2004, and was declared a Deemed to be University in 2008.

The University is accredited with an A+ grade by NAAC and was ranked among the top 100 universities in India (NIRF 2024). It offers multidisciplinary undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes and serves a large, diverse student community across multiple campuses.

About Pune Lavasa Campus

The Pune Lavasa Campus is nestled in the Sahyadri mountain range and provides a serene, focused academic environment. Though away from the city, it is designed to be a home away from home with strong student support.

The campus combines experienced faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and technology-enabled teaching practices to support both academic and non-academic development.

About School of Sciences

The School of Sciences at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus offers a strong multidisciplinary foundation through undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral pathways. Across departments, the School emphasizes academic depth, research orientation, and ethical scientific practice.

In Computer Science, the department highlights learner-centric and research-oriented training aligned with NEP 2020, with programs such as BCA (Honours / Honours with Research) and BSc (Psychology, Computer Science) (Honours / Honours with Research). The focus areas include AI, data science, cybersecurity, cloud computing, software engineering, and human-computer interaction.

The Department of Statistics and Data Science integrates data science, economics, mathematics, and statistics to build analytical thinking and innovation. Its offerings include BSc Data Science, MSc Data Science, BSc Economics and Analytics, and double-major pathways such as BSc (Computer Science, Data Science) and BSc (Economics, Statistics) in Honours / Honours with Research formats, alongside doctoral research options.

Track 1, Sustainable and Accessible AI Systems, focuses on practical AI for climate action, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, smart infrastructure, and assistive technologies that improve accessibility in education, healthcare, and governance.

Track 2, Responsible, Safe and Ethical AI, addresses fairness, transparency, privacy, cybersecurity, governance, and trustworthy deployment. It invites work on explainable AI, policy frameworks, and safety in autonomous and cyber-physical systems.

Track 3, Inclusive AI for Social and Economic Impact, highlights AI applications that promote equity, diversity, multilingual and culturally adaptive systems, public welfare innovation, and human-centered design for broader societal participation.
